Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, or Tsé Biiʼ Ndzisgaii, as the Navahos call it is located on the Arizona-Utah border. The literal meaning of the Navaho name is Valley of the Rocks. This place has been made famous by a lot of old Wild West movies that used this as the backdrop for movies.
The three buttes in Monument Valley viz. West and East Mitten Buttes and Merrick Butte, symbolizes this park. It is one of the most photographed sites in America – and is synonymous with the great southwest.
I was visiting Grand Canyon and went on to visit this park as well. I was fortunate (or unfortunate, as I was all wet) to get very heavy showers while at the park. The golden hour following this rainfall, brought out the park in all its glory.
Following gallery has some of the photos that I had captured during the trip.
